Civil War Veteran Gravestone Replacements and Rededications

Once a Veteran's grave marker has been determined to need replacing, the Daughters in Rebecca Otis Tent #54 request the military records from the National Archives, and put forth the Grave marker paperwork.

Working with the Cemetery caretaker, the bronze or stone marker is put in the ground and a rededication ceremony can take place.
While doing the paperwork, much is learned about the Veteran and his service, so the ceremony is quite personal and humbling.
