So far this year has been quiet. But our members have been busy. There are Two articles submitted to this issue: Sister Vickie Day, and Sister Stephanie Barker. Ten Tent members attended Department Convention in June! And the National President was there too.
We have 3 Grave Marking Ceremonies set for September and October. But generally we have been working on Tent business and preparing for future growth.

Our second newsletter contains pictures and news from the Indiana Department Convention in June, where some of our Tent members were elected to Department Offices as well.

Sister Karen Tatro was "back home in Indiana" this August and we had a lovely ceremony for her ancestor's new grave marker in Wabash County. Lots of nice pictures and the article featured in the local newspaper.

Sister Vickie Day's family also held a ceremony for her ancestor's new GAR flag marker during their family reunion.

March, April, May 2006: Newsletter 1

Rebecca Otis Tent #54 started off busy for 2006. March's meeting had increases on annual contributions. April we welcomed new member Linda Livingstone, and set up a booth at the Fort Wayne Civil War Days selling coffee/bottled water/hot chocolate.

We also held a ceremony for Pvt. Jacob Baker, Jr. His new Civil War marker was added to Gar Creek Cemetery in Northeast Allen County. The ceremony was also attended by a grandson and a great-grandson of the veteran. It was very special. Newsletter contains the announcement article in the Woodburn newspaper.

Several members also attended the rededication of Fort Wayne Civil War Monument in Lawton Park. Yes, we are off to a busy start!
