All Daughters, (grand-daughters, etc.)as direct descendants of honorably discharged soldiers, sailors, and
marines who served in the Union Army or Navy during the Rebellion 1861-1865, including those who died or were killed during
their term of service, whether members of the Grand Army of the Republic or not are eligible.
Daughters must be at least eight years old for membership.

You will need to supply information about yourself and your family. Begin with yourself and go back to your
Civil War ancestor. Include proof of each person's linage as written on the application form. You will also need to provide
documentation of your ancestor's military service, such as discharge papers, pension record, Adjutant General's list, state
record, or other documents that will substantiate his honorable discharge or service to his country.
Acceptable Proofs
include:
-Birth records
-Marriage records
-Death records
-Published obituaries with date, place and publisher included
-Proof of age & marital status on such official documents as for insurance, school records, census records,
and church membership
-Monument readings (include photo)
-Family documents:letters or photos with notations showing family relationships in period writing
Do
not send your original proofs, photocopies are acceptable.
